Kerry Newcomb


Kerry Newcomb is the Principle teacher at DAPA Canterbury, she also teaches several classes at the Deal Studios as well as running the dance classes for years 7 & 8 at Dover Girls Grammar School.

Kerry is also a talented choreographer and after assisting on several productions including Oliver at the Margate Winter Gardens and Bugsy Malone at The Marlowe Theatre, Canterbury she has gone on to choreograph pantomimes for First Family Entertainment – Britain’s leading Pantomime producers.

Kerry has worked with many stars including; Ashley & Pudsey, Barry Humphries, Eric Potts, Mr. Bloom, Jodie Prenger, Samuel Holmes …and many more!!

Kerry Newcomb has been a very passionate and committed dancer since the age of three! She started her training locally studying Ballet, Tap, Modern, Jazz, National, Drama and Singing to an advanced level.  During this time Kerry successfully competed in various festivals, and took part in major competitions achieving; First Place in All England National Competition, Second Place in All England Tap Competition, First place in Janet Cram Modern Championships and Most Outstanding Dance in the Marjorie Davies Star Tap Competition. 

At the age of 19 Kerry successfully auditioned for Laine Theatre Arts Stage School in Surrey. She completed a 3 year Diploma Course and also gained her teaching qualifications. Whilst at college Kerry starred in several shows including; Fosse, Scrooge, Bye Bye Birdie and three of the Laine Theatre Arts Annual Shows.  Kerry was a featured dancer for The Michael Jackson Tribute Dance Show touring the UK and Holland.

Kerry passes on her knowledge of Dance and Musical Theatre to DAPA students and the results can been seen in the numbers of students going off to train as professional dancers!!
